Summary:
Opening a study in the book of Galatians, we examine the critical situation unfolding in the Galatian churches. Paul writes with urgency and authority because the very gospel itself under attack. Paul declares that justification through faith alone is the only true gospel, and anything else is a different gospel.
1. Who is Paul? (v1-2)
He is an apostle, with full authority.

2. What Gospel Did Paul Preach? (v3-5)
Paul preached grace and peace from God, through Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins.

3. What is a Different Gospel? (v.6-7)
This different gospel that Paul confronts is one that distorts the true gospel by adding an element of works to it. Though having the appearance of a true gospel, it is no gospel at all. It has no saving power.

4. Who Has Authority to Alter the Gospel? (v. 8-9)
No one. Paul declares that even if he or an angel from heaven should preach a different gospel, the church should reject him.

Application:
Does Grace Point Church breathe a different gospel? Do we trust in something other than God's grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone?

"Trusting God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, our Triune God to guide us by His mercy and grace in declaring His true, infallible word to the local community and beyond."
